About Seven Hills Baroque: Seven Hills Baroque (7HB) enriches the Greater Cincinnati musical landscape with performances of Baroque and early Classical masterpieces on period instruments. Founded in the summer of 2020 by mezzo-soprano Lauren McAllister, oboist Brian Lyons, cellist Dr. Joshua Bermudez, and harpsichordist Dr. Michael Delfín, 7HB is the proud recipient of a CCMpower grant, and is Cincinnati’s leading historical performance ensemble.
7HB’s ensemble members and guests are prizewinning artists in musical genres ranging from medieval to modern, and hail from every geographical region of the United States. 7HB’s members consider it extremely fortunate that their paths crossed in Cincinnati, and are relentlessly united in their vision to share the intrigue and beauty of historical performance with audiences everywhere.
Integral to 7HB’s mission is a commitment to educating young audiences, and using concerts to enact lasting change for the benefit of the Greater Cincinnati community. 7HB has presented outreach programs in Cincinnati schools including Winton Woods High School, East Walnut Hills High School, Cincinnati Waldorf School, and Anderson High School. Beginning in 2023, and continuing indefinitely, 7HB will give a percentage of donations collected at every concert to a local charity. With limited exceptions, 7HB concerts are free and open to the public.
