The University of Kentucky Early Music Collective is a collaborative project among faculty and students from the string, keyboard, voice, brass, and percussion, and musicology areas. Under the shared direction of Dr. Jason Dovel, Dr. Elizabeth Arnold, and Dr. Scot Buzza, the ensemble recreates the sounds of earlier eras, performing music from the Renaissance and Baroque, both on period instruments with period temperaments, as well as modern instruments. The cornerstone of the Collective is the UK Baroque Trumpet Ensemble, which has performed at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, Historic Brass Society International Symposium, North American Baroque Trumpet Conference, and in 2018 were featured artists-in-residence with Mountainside Baroque in Cumberland, Maryland.
