Drs. Micaela Schmitz and Michael Unger present an Early Keyboard Day. The day includes talks and demonstrations on early keyboards, including the venue's Baroque style organ, clavichords, and harpsichords. Keyboard players will have opportunities to try their hand at the various instruments, and early keyboard maker Robert Duffy is planning to be there with one or more of his instruments. The day will end with a concert by the two presenters, both of whom were once students of Arthur Haas at the Eastman School of Music. They now bring their passion for early keyboard music to the Cincinnati area.
Players are encouraged to bring music but please note that if you wish to try clavichord please also bring photocopies of your originals, since those music holders cannot hold full size books easily. Intended for all levels. The venue has free on-site parking.
The cost is $15 to attend, and pre-registration is recommended. Free to those aged 15 or younger. All minors to be accompanied by an adult.
